Residents of the Syrian capital Damascus have been facing a shortage of clean drinking water for the past 10 days. The shortage has been blamed on foreign-backed militants. The armed groups have been accused of contaminating the city’s major water reservoirs. The Syrian army is now pressing ahead with an offensive to retake a strategic area which holds the reservoirs while the government is seeking to find alternative water resources.
