Copa del Rey: Alcorcon beat Espanyol on penalty kicks
La Liga side Espanyol have been knocked out of the Copa del Rey in the last-32 stage in Barcelona after suffering a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Alcorcon.
The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes when Alvaro Gimenez headed home from close range before Espanyol's Hernan Perez provided an equalizer with a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the high center.
A goalless extra time and a pair of penalty misses meant that the hosts were knocked out of the competition while Alcorcon advanced to the round of 16.
