Barcelona have reclaimed 2nd position in the Spanish La Liga, and climbed within 3 points of leaders Real Madrid, after registering a 4-1 victory over rivals Espanyol in Sunday-night's Catalan derby at Camp Nou.

Barca took the lead after 18 minutes when Luis Suarez was picked-out by Andres Iniesta’s stunning pass, and the Uruguay striker rolled the ball across the keeper, before tapping-in a 2nd from close range, 20 minutes into the 2nd half.

Less than 60 seconds later, it was 3-nil as Jordi Alba struck into the corner from inside the box. Espanyol, however, reduced the deficit when David Lopez curled the ball into the top corner, before Lionel Messi struck back, to make it 4-1 in the 90th minute.
