English Premier League champions Leicester City have responded to the team’s critics, with a resounding 4-2 victory against Manchester City, which was inspired by Jamie Vardy’s 1st hat-trick for the foxes.
The striker, who’d endured a 16-game goal-drought, gave Leicester an early lead against Pep Guardiola's side at the King Power Stadium, when he powered the ball past Claudio Bravo after only 3 minutes.
2 more minutes into the game on Saturday, and the foxes struck again. This time Andy King curled-in from outside the box to make it 2-nil.
Vardy scored his 2nd in the 20th minute, when he was set-up by a one-touch pass from winger Riyad Mahrez, to make it 3-nil.
The striker then completed his hat-trick when he squeezed the ball home from the narrowest of angles with some 10 minutes remaining, in a game which saw him convert all 3 of his shots.
Aleksandar Kolarov and Nolito managed to score consolation goals for Man City in the 82nd and 90th minutes, but it wasn't enough, as Claudio Ranieri's team ended a five-game win-less-run with an emphatic 4-2 victory.
