French squash player ranks first in Tehran open tournament

Young French squash player Auguste Dussourd has delivered commendable performances at the first edition of the International Navy Martyrs Memorial Squash Tournament in Iran and been named the greatest athlete of the event.

According to a report published on the Islamic Republic of Iran Squash Federation website on Friday, the 20-year-old Dussourd stood at the top position with the highest number of points tallied.

Tayyab Aslam from Pakistan claimed the second spot behind the French sportsman.

Junior Iranian squash player Sajjad Zare’ian and Pakistan’s Ahsan Ayaz shared the third spot.

The first edition of the International Navy Martyrs Memorial Squash Tournament started in Tehran, Iran, on December 3, and wrapped up on December 9, 2016.

The sports event brought together more than 100 squash players from a dozen countries, including Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar.
