Spanish giants Barcelona have thrashed German side Borussia Moenchengladbach 4-nil during their UEFA Champions League match at Camp Nou.
Argentinian ace Lionel Messi, who needed a hat-trick in the Group C encounter to overtake Cristiano Ronaldo’s record at Real Madrid for most goals in the group stage, managed to put the hosts ahead after 16 minutes by scoring from close range.
However, Messi was overshadowed in the second half by Arda as the Turkey International doubled Barca’s advantage in the 50th minute with a beautiful header.
3 minutes later, Turan added the Catalan’s third after firing a powerful shot past the keeper to make it 3-nil.
Turan then completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute with a simple tap-in at the back post to ensure the group winners went through to the last 16 with five wins from six games.
