Russia has unveiled a new freezing-weather space suit for cosmonauts.

The suit is called 'Polar Bear' and can withstand temperatures of minus 55 Celsius.

It is also very comfy, as well as quick and easy to put on and off. It is designed to be worn just before departure, when the temperature falls below zero at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The suit can protect astronauts from cold, strong wind and rain. The ‘Polar Bear’ is made of polyester and membrane, filled inside with hollow fiber.

Such suits were worn by the crew of the manned spacecraft Soyuz 03 that was launched from Baikonur on November.
