China's national dragon boat race concludes
China has hosted the final round of a national dragon boat race.
The race was held in Lingshui County, Hainan Province. 36 teams who had made it through 6 rounds of preliminary games, competed for 2 days in different categories including professional, youths, men and women divisions.
While all the boats shared a dragon head and a tail at the stern, squads were also different in size, according to the race category. Each squad struggled to paddle its way to the finishing line at the end of distances of 100, 200 and 500 meters.
Organizers say Lingshui was selected as the venue for the race due to its site conditions and pleasant climate.
