English Premier League leaders Chelsea have come from a goal down to beat major rivals Manchester City 3-1, for their 8th straight league victory, following an entertaining match which ended on a sour note at the Etihad Stadium.

The hosts took the lead through Chelsea’s Gary Cahill on the stroke of halftime, when he stretched to clear a cross by Jesus Navas but instead flicked the ball into his own goal.

Man City, who kept pushing forward for much of the game, should have taken a 2-nil lead before the hour-mark, when Sergio Aguero’s pin-point low cross picked out Kevin De Bruyne who surprisingly hit the woodwork from point-blank-range.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa was the architect of the turnaround. The striker grabbed the equalizer in the 60th minute with a brilliant goal, before setting up substitute Willian for Chelsea’s 2nd in the 70th minute.

The Londoners’ 3rd came from a counterattack, as Eden Hazard outpaced Aleksandar Kolarov and sealed the 3-1 victory in the 90th minute. However, a chaotic ending saw City reduced to 9 men.

Aguero was sent off for a two-footed challenge on David Luiz, and moments later, Fernandinho was shown a red card for pushing Cesc Fabregas by the neck over the advertising boards.
