South Korea slaps unilateral sanctions on North Korea

South Korea has levied unilateral sanctions on North Korea, following a US-drafted UN Security Council resolution passed on Wednesday. North Korea has warned that it would respond. Meanwhile, analysts suggest Washington and Seoul’s plan to deploy an advanced US missile system to South Korea may weaken China’s cooperation with the US.
