While winter usually tiptoes its way to Kyrgyzstan at this time of year, the country’s ski resorts are already celebrating a full on snow season.

18 ski resorts in Kyrgyzstan are fully functioning thanks to the heavy snow which has covered their hills and pines a month earlier than usual.

The biggest and best ski resorts of the country in the city of Karakol are already receiving hundreds of local and foreign guests.

Karakol resorts are particularly popular among tourists who appreciate their good runs, nice weather and the modest price policy.

Kyrgyz officials report a yearly rise in investment and number of tourists. They plan to use the country’s potential to develop more winter sports. The ski season in Kyrgyzstan lasts until mid-April.
