Liverpool and Leeds United have paid tribute to the Brazilian plane crash victims involving Chapecoense players by holding a minute of silence during their EFL Cup match on Tuesday at Anfield.

It was the Merseyside Reds who booked their spot in the semifinal of the tournament by defeating the visitors 2-nil at home.

After a goalless first half, Liverpool finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute through Divock Origi who poked the ball into the net to make it 1-nil.

Ben Woodburn then doubled the Reds advantage 9 minutes from time when he prodded home a superb cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold at the near post to become the club's youngest scorer as Liverpool sealed their spot in the final 4 with the 2-nil victory over Leeds United.
