NHL: Islanders beat Flames 2-1 in overtime

In the National Hockey League, the New York Islanders hold off the Calgary Flames, 2-1, in overtime on Monday night.

John Tavares scored the opener for the Islanders in the first period. But Sean Monahan leveled things up for the Flames later in the third period.

Tied at 1-all, at the end of regulation, the game went to overtime where Thomas Hickey scored the game-winning goal to seal the victory for the Islanders.
