Pilgrims have kicked off their annual Arba’een pilgrimage in Iraq’s holy city of Samarra despite fragile security. Each year, millions of mourners travel to Iraq to take part in the event which marks the 40th day to follow the anniversary of Imam Hussein's martyrdom back in the seventh century.
