Iran takes world title in 2016 World Classic Bodybuilding Championships

Iranian national classic bodybuilding squad has been crowned champion in the 70th edition of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships & 11th edition of World Amateur Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Spain.

Iran finished at the top of the chart after picking up three gold, one silver, and one bronze medals at the tournament in the eastern Spanish city of Benidorm.

Seyyed Rouhollah Mirnourollahi claimed the first gold medal for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the up to 168-centimeter class. Mehdi Parvani brought home the second gold in the up to 171-centimeter division.

Mohammad Reza Ja’fari also snatched a bronze for Iran in the up to 180-centimeter category.

In the over 180-centimeter class, Kayvan Rezapour and Hesam Khosravi stood first and second respectively to pocket another gold medal and a silver for the Iranian delegation at the competitions.

The 70th edition of the IFBB Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships & 11th edition of World Amateur Classic Bodybuilding Championships began in Benidorm, Spain, on November 3 and will finish on November 7, 2016.

The sports event has brought together a total of 235 world athletes from various continents.
