Milos Raonic of Canada has suffered a first round defeat at the hands of Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis, while sixth seed Grigor Dimitrov lost to Luxembourg’s Gille Muller.

Raonic, who lost his previous meeting to Berankis in the second round of the 2014 Moscow Open, started Tuesday’s match quite well and took the first set 6-2 with ease. But, the Lithuanian came back in the second set and outscored the Canadian 6-3 to tie the match at 1 a-piece.

Barankis then continued his powerful performance in the third set to take it with the same score. The Lithuanian progressed into the second round where he’ll take on Argentina's Federico Delbonis.

That’s while, world Number 37 Muller knocked out Bulgaria’s Dimitrov 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 to set up a second round clash with German Florian Mayer who overcame Benwaa Paire of France in 3 sets.
