Manchester United have endured a humiliating 4-nil defeat at the hands of Chelsea in the English Premier League
The Blues stormed into the lead in 30 seconds as Spanish striker Pedro took full advantage of slack defending and tucked into an empty net before Gary Cahill doubled the lead 20 minutes later as he blasted home a deflected corner kick.
The Red Devils fell even further behind when Eden Hazard found the back of the net for the third time with a precise 15-yard strike and French midfielder Negolo Kantey rolled a low shot into the corner to secure the 4-nil thrashing of United and make former manager Jose Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge a miserable one.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Manchester City were held to a 1-all draw by Southampton at the Etihad Stadium.
The Sky Blues, who were recently demolished 4-nil by Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, continued their poor performance on Sunday. Nathan Redmond fired Southampton ahead in the 27th minute after capitalizing on a mistake by John Stones.
The half-time substitute Kelechi Iheanacho, came to City's rescue with a close-range finish in the 55th minute. Man City then took control and searched for a winner but the Saints held on to secure a point from Sunday’s encounter.
