An Orbital ATK capsule carrying supplies and experiments has docked with the International Space Station (ISS).

ATK’s latest Cygnus completed its mission 6 days after lifting off aboard an Antares rocket from Wallops Island in Virginia. The delivery mission included bringing 2,300 kilograms of food, equipment and science gear for the space station’s 49th and 50th expeditions including three new crew members.

Orbital ATK announced earlier that the Cygnus will stay at the space lab for a month before it leaves for earth with more than 1,500 kilograms of disposable cargo. Cygnus will then join the fate of other cargo spacecraft by burning upon re-entry into atmosphere.
