An injury-time penalty from Lionel Messi saw Barcelona edge-out Valencia in an entertaining 5-goal thriller.

Messi scored against Valencia for the 10th straight season, to put the Catalans in the lead after 22 minutes.

Valencia turned the tables early into the 2nd half, with Munir grabbing the equalizer, before Rodrigo Moreno putting the hosts ahead in the 56th minute.

Luis Suarez then made up for the 2 scoring opportunities he had missed in the first half, by drilling home an equalizer just after the hour mark.

And it was Barca talisman Messi who made all the difference, after Suarez won a penalty in the dying seconds of the match, as the Argentine sneaked the ball under the grasp of Diego Alves to snatch all 3 points.

However, there were some ugly scenes after the winning goal with a bottle thrown by home fans striking some Barcelona players as they were celebrating.
