Cavendish takes Abu Dhabi Tour lead with stage two win

Mark Cavendish wins the second stage of the Tour of Abu Dhabi to take the overall lead on Friday.

The British cyclist, who took second place at the world championships in Doha last Sunday, finished ahead of Team Sky's Elia Viviani and Andrea Guardini of Astana at the end of the second 115-kilometre stage.

Cavendish inherited the overall lead from Giacomo Nizzolo who is four seconds off the pace. The third stage of the event which will be held on Saturday is 150 kilometer stage that concludes with an 11- kilometer climb, where Cavendish is expected to lose the race leader's red jersey.
