A professional clown in the US is making an effort to ditch the creepy image that children and adults across the world have of the colorful entertainers.
Milton Sheppard has been teaching a workshop in New York every Sunday to wannabe clowns. At his studio, he helps his students develop an alter-ego. He also guides them on how to create a costume, apply their makeup and perform in front of dozens of children. Sheppard says he doesn’t have much time for the people who tarnish the reputation of clowns being scary.
The clown school could be a positive start for removing the widespread phobia of the entertainers. But New Yorkers may still be concerned about creepy looking clowns taking over the streets of Manhattan just weeks before Halloween.
