Spainish giants Real Madrid have demolished Poland’s Legia Warsaw 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabu to extend their unbeaten run to 23 games across all competitions.
Los Blancos were on fire on Tuesday and only needed 16 minutes to open the scoring through Gareth Bale who sent a low shot past the keeper to make it 1-nil.
3 minutes later, Real managed to double their advantage on Tomasz Jodlowiec's own goal. Marcelo unleashed a powerful shot which deflected off the Polish player and went in the net.
Miroslav Radović however, managed to pull one back for the visitors in the 22nd minute on a penalty.
But Marco Asensio restored Madrid’s 2 goal cushion in the 37th minute by slotting a low shot into the back of the net, making it 3-1.
And the hosts didn’t stop there, Lucas Vázquez made it 4-1 after rifling a volleyed strike through the legs of the keeper in the 68th minute.
Alvaro Morata also scored in the closing stages, as he latched on to Chritiano Ronaldo's pass and tucked a neat finish inside the near post to wrap up the victory.
