Marc Marquez has clinched his 3rd MotoGP world championship by winning the Japanese Grand Prix, while his nearest rivals Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo both crashed out.

On Sunday, Marquez finished the 24-lap race with a time of 42 minutes, 34.61 seconds, to become the youngest man to win 3 premier-class world championship titles.

But, Italy’s Rossi who was also battling defending champion Lorenzo for the top position, crashed on the 15th lap and retired from the race.

That’s while, Lorenzo himself also crashed out after he lost control of his bike inside the final 5 laps. This left Marquez to go on and claim the race and the title. Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso finished second on the podium with Maverick Vinales of Suzuki in 3rd.
