Britain’s Andy Murray has claimed his 6th title of the season by outclassing Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets in the final of the Shanghai Masters.

The Wimbledon and Olympic champion produced some of his best tennis in China on Sunday and needed 1 hour 37 minutes to dismantle his Spanish opponent.

Murray, who won the China Open in Beijing a week ago, fought hard to take the first set 7-6. But things got easier for 29 year old Scot in the second set as he just lost one further game before capturing the title 7-6, 6-1 with a smash on his first match point.

With the triumph, Murray closed in on Novak Djokovic at the top of the world rankings as he now trails the Serb by only 915 points.
