The St. Louis Blues have earned a valuable 5-2 away victory against the Chicago Blackhawks, in their first 2016-17 NHL season showdown at the United Center.

Richard Panik gave the hosts an early lead, before Kevin Shattenkirk equalized less than 5 minutes into the second period. The Blackhawks took the lead one more time, but Vladimir Tarasenko leveled the score at 2-apiece.

But the last period was a different story as Paul Stastny provided the game-winner for the Blues, followed by Tarasenko’s 2nd of the game, and an empty-netted goal by Scottie Upshall on what looked like an own-goal for Chicago, giving the visitors an unbelievable 5-2 win over their rivals.
