Portugal rout Faroe Islands 6-0 in World Cup qualifier

Andre Silva scored a hat-trick inside 25 minutes to power Portugal into a commanding 6-nil victory over the Faroe Islands in a Group B qualifier.

The 20-year-old opened the scoring after 12 minutes and found the net twice more in the 22nd and 35th minutes to complete a hat-trick.

Cristiano Ronaldo added a 4th midway through the second half before stoppage-time goals from Joao Moutinho and Joao Cancelo capped Portugal's second six-goal shutout in four days. The win lifted Portugal to second place in the table, three points behind leaders Switzerland.
