World No 1, Novak Djokovic has made a winning return following a month-long injury layoff. And that’s by beating Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-3 in the second round of the Shanghai Masters on Tuesday.

Djokovic hadn't played a match since losing to Stan Wawrinka at last month’s US Open. He also pulled out of last week's China Open with an elbow injury.

But the Serbian was rusty in his comeback in Shanghai and had no trouble dispatching the Italian Fognini in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The three-time Shanghai champion will next face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
