Nadal beats Mannarino to reach China Open quarter-finals

Rafael Nadal has overcome Adrian Mannarino in straight sets to reach China Open quarter-finals on Thursday.

The world number 4 Rafael Nadal got off to a quick start, winning 9 of the first 11 games of the tournament.

However, Mannarino rallied back to force the 2nd set into a tiebreak, before Nadal ended the contest on his 2nd match-point to seal the 6-1, 7-6 victory.

The Spaniard will next face Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria who ousted Lucas Pouille 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 earlier in the day.
