The Italian Coast Guard says it has recovered the bodies of 28 refugees during a single day of naval operations through the Mediterranean. The figure takes the number of refugees who lost their lives at sea since the start of this year to over 31,000. This is while criticism is mounting over Brussels’ handling of the refugee crisis.
