One of the world’s best female tennis players, Maria Sharapova has every reason to celebrate now after a reduction in her doping ban.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced her two year ban to 15 months. That means the Russian will be able to play again from April 26th next year.

The five-time Grand Slam champion was banned by the International Tennis Federation for two years after testing positive for Meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open.

The 29-year-old who said she had been taking the drug since 2006 for health problems, appealed against the ban. Meldonium became a banned substance on 1 January 2016.
