CAS to issue verdict on Sharapova's appeal against ban
The Court of Arbitration for Sport, or the CAS, says the verdict in Maria Sharapova’s appeal against her 2-year doping ban will be announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, CAS said that the ruling will be issued at 13:00 GMT.
The former World No.1 tennis player was hit with the ban by the International Tennis Federation back in June, after she tested positive for Meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open.
This is while, Sharapova admitted to taking the drug since 2006 for health problems. She said she had been un-aware that Meldonium was announced a banned substance on January the first 2016 by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
