Atletico Madrid registered a 2-0 victory over Valencia with the help of Antoine Griezmann at the Mestalla Stadium.
After missing a penalty for the visitors in the first half, Griezmann gave Atletico the lead after the interval by scoring on rebound to make it 1-0.
Diego Simone’s men won another penalty in the 69th minute but Diego Alves came to Valencia’s rescue again to remarkably save another penalty from Gabi. Atletico, however, made sure of all 3 points in extra time when Kevin Gameiro raced into the area and drilled a low shot past Alves.
