'AnBot', China's new security robot.

China has hired a robot that will patrol a terminal at Shenzhen international airport. This is the first public place in the country to be guarded that way.

'AnBot' is tasked with both protecting and servicing human beings. The oval-shaped machine is 1.5 meter tall and weighs more than 75 kilos. It has a top speed of 18 kilometers per hour.

The robot has a digital display and a high-definition camera to take pictures of travelers.

It can work nonstop for 8 hours and will alert when it detects an emergency. It can also activate its taser to disable intruders.
