Iran misses Futsal World Cup final, goes to play-off
Iran have suffered a 4-3 loss at the hands of Russia in the semi-final of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016 in Colombia.
Both teams started the match quite well but it was the Russians who managed to take the lead through Lyskov’s powerful shot.
But the Asian giants tied the match at 1 a piece when Iran's Esmaeilpour fired an unstoppable shot past the keeper in the 16th minute of the first half.
In the second frame, both teams scored again and got tied at 2-all but the Russians managed to add another 2 goals in the latter stages of the match, making it 4-2.
Javid, however, managed to make it 4-3 for Iran at the dying seconds of the game but it wasn’t enough as Russia progressed into the finals.
