Ibrahim Mousawi, a political commentator from Beirut, has been interviewed by Press TV about recent remarks made by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of the Hezbollah resistance movement.

Nasrallah is not leveling “mere accusations” against the supporters of militant groups in Syria, but his statements are based on facts and he is able to provide documents of the meddling of the West and its regional allies in the Middle East, Mousawi told Press TV’s Top 5.

Many of the anti-Syria governments including the United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar are not shy at all, but “they boast their linkage and their support to the Takfiri groups” active inside Syria, he said.

Nasrallah has said there are no “moderate” armed groups in Syria, warning that all those fighting Damascus are either working with the Takfiri Daesh terrorists or al-Nusra Front, Lebanon’s al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Tuesday.

According to the analyst, there are two conflicting groups involved in the crisis in Syria. The United States and its regional allies are pushing for their interests through supporting terrorism in Syria, he said.

Mousawi also stated that the resistance front has called for a “political solution” to end the conflict in Syria, adding that “Hezbollah exercised a lot of political and diplomatic efforts in order to bring a political solution.”

The foreign-backed militant groups who come from more than 70 countries around the world, the analyst said, are not interested in a political solution, but the terrorists and their supporters seek to continue the conflict in Syria.
