The world’s most prestigious gas balloon race has been held in Northwest Germany.

Known as the “Gordon Bennett Balloon Race”, the event is the oldest in aviation and the ultimate challenge for the pilots.

It is all about adventure, skill, courage, survival and luck. And the goal is simple.

To fly the furthest non-stop distance from the launch site. This year's champions were the Swiss Team of Kurt Frieden and Pascal Witprachtiger. They are the winner of the two previous tournaments.
