A fast lane for pedestrians appears at UK Waterloo station

The fast lane at the Waterloo station is to help fast walkers get in and out of the station unhindered.

If you often find yourself stuck behind a slow walker who is too busy on their phone to focus on putting one foot in front of the other, then a pedestrian fast lane like this one outside Waterloo station in London may keep your stress levels to a minimum.

It is to help speedy walkers get in and out of the station quickly. But only those who walk nearly five kilometers per hour and don’t use their phones will be allowed to use pedestrian fast lane. The 50 meter lane is part of a marketing campaign.

According to a survey the campaign carried out on the UK’s pavement etiquette, 71 percent of people felt that there should be separate fast lanes on the UK’s pavements whilst 58 percent said slow walkers were the most annoying pavement irritation.
