Spain La Liga: Valencia claim first win of season against Alaves
In Spain’s La Liga, Valencia have claimed their first win of the season, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Alaves.
Victor Laguardia's 28th-minute own goal put Valencia ahead. But, the visitors leveled things up just before the break by Gaizka Toquero's header.
That looked set to be the end of the scoring when, with 2 minutes left on the clock, Valencia were awarded a penalty.
Veteran midfielder Daniel Parejo made no mistake and sent the keeper the wrong to hand Valencia the win.
In the other matches of the day, Deportivo La Coruna went down against Leganes 2-1 and Osasuna lost to Espanyol with the same score.
