German champions Bayern Munich have continued their dominance in the new season by demolishing Hertha Berlin 3-0 at the Allianz Arena.

The brilliant Franck Ribery opened the scoring after just 16 minutes into the Wednesday match by firing a low shot underneath the keeper.

Bayern then doubled their advantage after a break through, and Thiago Alcantara calmly slotted the ball past the keeper in the 68th minute.

The Bavarians found their third, 4 minutes later when Ribery curled the ball into the top corner of the net to seal the victory for Bayern.

For Schalke though, a miserable start to the new campaign continues. They fall to their fourth straight defeat of the season, a 3-1 loss at home to Cologne.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored the first goal for Schalke in the 36th minute before Yuya Osako netted to level things up for the visitors before the break.

After the interval, it was Cologne who took control of the game with Anthony Modeste firing home to put his side ahead. Simon Zoller then completed the scoring for Cologne with a close range finish.
