Venezuela election body rules out recall referendum this year

Venezuela’s Electoral Council has practically eliminated the possibility of a recall referendum to vote President Maduro out of power this year. While the opposition claims that pro-government figures rule the electoral institution and push to keep Maduro in power, government officials say certain steps must be taken for a referendum to go ahead. Our correspondent in Caracas Jesus Silva reports.
