A group of British researchers have announced that table tennis could be a drug-free treatment for Alzheimer's patients.

Neurologists say the sport helps test patients’ mental and physical alertness, and it helps prevent anxiety.

They believe ping pong can also help reduce cognitive decline and improve long-term memory for those living with the illness.

Experts hope to train care home staff in delivering a specialized table tennis therapy plan to residents in the future.

Alzheimer’s disease costs Britain 34 billion dollars each year, with $5.6 billion going to drugs and healthcare alone.
