Amnesty slams refugee conditions at Greek Lesbos

  • Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has met the Italian and British prime ministers and his Turkish counterpart in New York on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly. Rouhani, who arrived in New York on Tuesday, is scheduled to address the annual assembly on Thursday.

  • Palestinians have held a protest in the city of Bethlehem in solidarity with hunger striking prisoners in Israeli jails. The demonstrators called for an end to Israel’s policy of detention without trial. The rally comes as the health condition of several hunger-striking prisoners is deteriorating.
