Paralympics 2016: Iran's Amiri wins men's shot put F55 silver

Iran's Paralympian Hamed Amiri.

Iran’s Hamed Amiri has won silver for the Islamic republic in men's shot put F55 class.



On Friday, Amiri managed to grab Iran’s 20th medal at the event with a throw of 11.26 meters. A Bulgarian athlete won gold with a throw of 12.33 meters and a Polish settled for bronze.

Iran now sits at 14th place in the medals’ standings, with 7 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals.
