German giants Bayern Munich started their Champions League campaign in style after demolishing Russia’s FC Rostov 5-nil at the Allianz Arena.
Goals from Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller gave the Bavarians a comfortable 2-nil lead in Munich by the end of the first half.
Joshua Kimmich then stretched the hosts’ advantage after the interval when he netted twice in the space of 7 minutes to make it 4-nil and put his side in the driving seat.
And, substitute Juan Bernat sealed the victory by adding a 5th in the last minute as Bayern recorded their 13th consecutive Champions League win at the Allianz Arena.
