Press TV has conducted an interview with Wilmer Leon, a columnist and political scientist from Washington.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: It may seem to some that Donald Trump is feeling well about Hillary Clinton not feeling well; just how much is Clinton’s health status is going to affect her candidacy and the race for the White House against Trump?

Leon: Well, I think in the long run this is just going to be another minor blip on the radar screen. Unfortunately, the Clinton campaign and their seemingly inability to manage things like this and manage them well winds up exacerbating the situation, making them much worse than they are.

Because the most recent reports on this issue is that not only is with Secretary Clinton stricken by pneumonia but at least six senior members of her staff have fallen ill with this or other type of upper respiratory illnesses over the last couple weeks.

Even her campaign manager Robby Mook has fallen ill. So their ability to get on top of the story and to manage the story seems to be a much bigger problem than her health issue.

Press TV: But of course, Dr. Leon, if any reason Clinton fails to continue her campaign trail what's next for the Democrats? Who's their next choice?

Leon: Oh well I have no idea on the answer to that question primarily because I don't really foresee that being anywhere near being a possibility.

This is really just a minor blip on the radar screen but again mainstream American media's overreaction to things like this continuing because of a 24-hour news cycle continuing to show the same video over and looping the video over and over and over again as though she's on her deathbed when she again …

And if it were just limited to her, this might be a bigger story but again the real story seems to be or the truth to the story seems to be this was a virus that has been going through her Brooklyn presidential nominee headquarters. So, it's not quite as catastrophic as mainstream media's making it out to be.
