Pudding throwing contest held in Lancashire

02

Hundreds of competitors have attended the annual ‘World Black Pudding Throwing Championships’ in a village in Lancashire, Northern England.

The funny competition has been running for over 100 years and celebrates the historic rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The tournament involves competitors standing on a golden grid block to knock stacks of Yorkshire puddings from a 6-meter-high plinth using black puddings.

The puddings weigh around three kilograms. Each competitor has three throws in an attempt to knock down as many Puddings as possible. Whoever can remove the most Yorkshire puddings is the winner.
