Tour of Spain: Mathias Frank wins stage 17
Swiss rider Mathias Frank has won stage 17 of the tour of Spain while Colombia’s Nairo Quintana retained the overall lead.
Frank, who made his first appearance in the Vuelta since 2011, claimed his first stage win in a Grand Tour on Wednesday with a time of 4 hours, 34 minutes and 38 seconds. Team Sky’s Leopold Konig finished the 177.5km stage in second place with Dutchman Robert Gesink back in 3rd.
Quintana still held on to the Yellow Jersey and has a commanding 3 minutes and 37 seconds advantage over Britain's Chris Froome in the General Standings. The Spanish Vuelta will continue on Thursday with a 200.6km ride.
