Iran’s national football team has played out a goalless draw against China in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match.

Entering this game, China was thirsty for a win since they had gathered no points after losing their previous game to South Korea 3-2. While Iran had already 3 points in the bag with their 2-nil win against Qatar.

Both teams were determined to win, getting off to a good start at Shenyang stadium. Even though China had more possession of the ball, Iran managed to pose more of a threat, having more dangerous attacks, more goal attempts and more shots on target.

Despite their efforts, they were unable to break the deadlock which left both teams sharing the points.

Up to now, Iran gains four points while China has one. Iran will next play Uzbekistan on the 6th of October while China faces Syria.
