Tour of Spain: ​Jean-Pierre Drucker wins stage 16

Luxembourg's ​Jean-Pierre Drucker has won Stage 16 of the Tour of Spain, while compatriot Nairo Quintana maintained the Overall Lead.

Monday’s race took the riders to a 156.4 kilometer route from Alcaniz to Peniscola, where BMC rider Drucker finished with a time of 3 hours, 21 minutes and 18 seconds to claim the 1st Grand Tour Stage victory of his Career.

German duo of Roodiger Selish and Nikias Arndt ended their day in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Meanwhile, Quintana finished safely to protect his Commanding 3 minutes and 37 seconds advantage over Britain's Chris Froome in the General Standings.

The Spanish Vuelta pauses on Tuesday for its 2nd Rest Day, but resumes on Wednesday, with a 177.5 km stage from Casteyon to Lucena.
