Argentina’s striker Sergio Aguero has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association (FA) for elbowing West Ham's Winston Reid.

The 28-year old damaged his calf during Manchester City’s 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham on Sunday. The injury prevented the player from being part of the national squad for the upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifiers with Uruguay and Venezuela.

And now the striker could face a three-match ban, including the Sky Blues derby against Man United on the 10th of September and Bournemouth on the 17th.

He has been charged for a deliberate elbow on Reid in the 76th minute of the game on Sunday. The incident was not seen by match officials so the FA has taken retrospective action.
